Experimenting with loose washes of colour and not too much detail in this picture.  Trying to capture the sunlight and the hazy feel that can give.  I quite like the way it turned out so I might try some more experiments like this.

A painting of Bix my Aunts best friends Rottie.  Love painting the animals!  It's so much fun trying to get the tones in to the dark fur on Rotties.

Based on a photo I took whilst walking our dog along the canal path from Kidlington up past Hampton Gay. 
I loved the light that was coming through the trees and wanted to see if I could capture it in oils.

I've been experimenting with more pastel tones in oil.
Really enjoyed painting this.  I will be doing a few more variations on this theme.

I wish the sheep had stayed still a little longer, it's hard painting a moving target.

I saw some wonderful photos that someone from work had taken of Bodie ghost town and luckily he gave me permission to use them as reference to do some paintings.
I love the strong sunlight and the colours of these images and hope I managed to capture the feel of the place in the painting.
