I see you

I've entered this to the SAA magazine in hope it might get selected for print in the next issue.
Fingers crossed!

Daffodils

Daffodils - watercolour

Another challenge at the art group.  This time to produce a card with the theme Easter.
I decided to have a go at some very loose watercolour flowers.

Melon and grapes

Melon and grapes - watercolour

I've been neglecting watercolours for a while, so decided to try them out again.
The colours really appealed to me in this image.

Silhouette challenge

Silhouette challenge - oils

We had a challenge at the village art group to produce a painting with the theme 'silhouette'.
I chose to paint this cat silhouetted against the light from the window.
Lots of fun, but quite a challenge to do in time whilst at the group.

Waterstock Mill

Waterstock Mill - oil

8" x 10" oil of Waterstock Mill.  It's such a wonderful location I couldn't resist trying to paint the mill.

Apple tutorial

Apple tutorial - oils

A small apple painting I've put together as a tutorial for the village art group.
Looking forward to seeing what the group produce when we have a go at this.

Sunrise walk

Sunrise walk - oils

A small 10"x12" oil of my early morning dog walk heading back to our village.
The light was beautiful on this cold morning and everything was glowing in shades of orange giving the scene a warm feel even though it was a cold morning.  I tried my best to capture it.

Silver Birch

Silver Birch - watercolour

I felt the need to try another watercolour after concentrating on oils for a while.
I love both mediums so much!

Snow lesson

Snow lesson - oil

I am attempting to give an oil painting lesson to some of our art group.  This is the painting I am getting people to attempt in oils.
They're all doing really well so far.  We should finish the paintings next week.

Morning glow

Morning glow - oils

This small oil was based on a photograph in the SAA magazine.  They challenge you to paint from their photo.
