Coming home
Oil on linen canvas 30cm x 40cm
Lots of fun painting the sunlight coming through the trees in this. I've got an old gold swept frame that I wanted to paint something for and I hope this will look good in the frame. Waiting for a few days for the picture to dry before I try it out.

Trying out pastels again. They were such a joy to use with the leopard I thought I would try another beautiful creature.

Sunrise
Sunrise Watercolour
Just finished off a little watercolour I started a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure about the strength of the colour in the sky at first, but I think it turned out nice in the end.
Based on an early morning photo I took whilst out walking our dog.

Had a go at a picture in pastel pencils. I absolutely love the medium! Looking out for my next subject to paint with these.

Water lily
Water lily Oil 30"x 8"
I had an old odd shaped frame in the house which I painted up white and added silver leaf to. I wanted to paint something to fit the frame and wondered if water lilies might suit it.
I might do a little more work on this but here it is so far.

Experimenting with watercolour and pen
Experimenting with watercolour and white pen to see what kind of effects I can get.
They turned out really bright and colourful. I think these could make nice card designs.

Scotch bonnet peppers
Scotch bonnet peppers watercolour
I painted this as a thank you to a local farmer who kindly lets us metal detect on his land.
I saw him planting some scotch bonnet peppers when I first met him so thought this might appeal. He really loved the painting!

Went out with some friends from our village art group to the botanical gardens to paint.
This view really caught my eye with the contrasting colours.

Spring walk
Spring walk - Oil
25cm x 42cm
I loved the way the shadows were falling across the path and bluebells when I was walking in this wood a few weeks ago.
I wanted to see if I could capture how pretty it was in oils.

Country walk
Country Walk Oil
12"x 16"
I wanted to do a country scene with a lighter misty feel to it. I loved experimenting with the leaves and flowers. I was very happy with the result.

Experimenting with loose washes of colour and not too much detail in this picture. Trying to capture the sunlight and the hazy feel that can give. I quite like the way it turned out so I might try some more experiments like this.

Oxford Canal
30cm x 40cm Oil.
Based on a photo I took whilst walking our dog along the canal path from Kidlington up past Hampton Gay.
